Schuylkill County commissioners approved an addendum to contract #2024‑95 on June 3 to increase the spending cap for Diakon Child Family & Community Ministries by $359,689.
Deanna Orlowsky, executive director of the Office of Senior Services, told the board the additional funding covers senior community centers, a noncompetitive senior‑center grant, PA MEDI, health and wellness services, in‑home meals and volunteers serving seniors. The revised contract cap will be $1,374,598. The request cited additional funding through the Pennsylvania Department of Aging and asked for immediate approval.
Commissioner Barron Hetherington moved to approve the addendum and Commissioner Gary Hess seconded; the roll call vote was Padora, Hetherington, Hess — YES, recorded as unanimous (3–0). The board’s action authorizes county staff to execute the contract addendum and distribute the additional funds under the specified categories.
