Hancock County supervisors approve courthouse event use and $235,820 pay estimate

Supervisor Gary Rayhons moved to approve the tentative agenda and later moved the board’s approval of the courthouse event application; Supervisor Florence (Sis) Greiman seconded both motions and the measures carried. The event is scheduled for June 27 through July 3, 2026, with daily hours set from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday through Friday and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday. The board’s approval is contingent on receipt of proof of insurance; the $100 damage deposit was waived.
The board also approved pay estimate No. 20 for the Britt Secondary Roads maintenance building, a payment to Dean Snyder Construction Co. in the amount of $235,820.12. The pay estimate was presented as part of the same approval motion and carried without recorded opposition.
