The Lucas Local Board of Education on Aug. 19, 2025 adopted its meeting agenda and approved a series of routine motions and contracts for the 2025–26 school year by unanimous votes.
The board approved the agenda (motion 2025-142), the minutes of its July 15 regular meeting (2025-143) and the July 2025 monthly finance reports (2025-144). It also appointed Timothy Cooper as delegate and Eric Steward as alternate to the Annual Ohio School Boards Capital Conference (Nov. 16–18, 2025), with delegate responsibilities on Monday, Nov. 17, 2025.
The board approved supplemental contracts for the 2025–26 school year, a pupil-activity program contract for a middle school cheer coach, and accepted the resignation of a transportation employee. The board also approved use of the Mid-Ohio ESC substitute teachers and tutors list for the coming year.
District contracts approved included an agreement with the Governing Board of the Mid-Ohio Educational Service to provide Title IX-related services (Aug. 1, 2025–July 31, 2026); a VOIP services contract with the Northeast Ohio Network for Educational Technology effective July 1, 2025–June 30, 2030; and a services contract with the ESC of Central Ohio for one student for 2025–26.
The board also approved transportation bus routes for 2025–26 and authorized the football team, cheerleaders and band to travel to Reynolds High School in Pennsylvania on Oct. 8, 2025.
All recorded motions in the meeting were approved on recorded 5–0 votes. The meeting adjourned at 7:27 p.m.
The board’s certificate under Section 5705.412 of the Revised Code was included to confirm sufficient funds to meet the approved obligations.
