Allendale DDA approves $25,000 to Chamber of Commerce, sets 2025 schedule

The Allendale Downtown Development Authority on Nov. 19, 2024, approved an additional $25,000 payment to the Allendale Chamber of Commerce to support local business programming in 2025.
Rence Meredith, a member of the Allendale Downtown Development Authority, moved to approve the chamber funding; Kellen Brusveen seconded and the motion passed. Members had been given the draft agreement in advance and discussed the planned support for local businesses in the coming year.
The meeting also included routine business: Meredith moved to approve the Oct. 15, 2024 meeting minutes with Brent Clark supporting; that motion passed. Jeremy Borgman moved to adopt the DDA's proposed 2025 meeting schedule, with Tom Zuniga supporting; that motion likewise passed. The next DDA meeting was set for Jan. 21, 2025.
Kellen Brusveen updated members on a streetscape signage effort, saying he has been coordinating with the Ottawa County Road Commission on plans for banner placements along 48th and 68th avenues and has contacted other municipalities for process recommendations. He told the board he will report back as details become available.
There were no public comments during the meeting, and Rence Meredith moved to adjourn (support from Kellen Brusveen); the board adjourned after the scheduled business.
