Town Clerk Marian Bernaldi briefed the Select Board on plans for Medfield’s 375th anniversary parade, scheduled for Oct. 17. The parade will begin at the high school, proceed onto South Street, turn onto Pound Street and continue past Tilden Village to the Peak House, then travel along Main Street and disperse near Dale Street Memorial School. A post‑parade 'party in the park' is planned at Town Pond in partnership with Bell Forge.
Bernaldi said organizers expect thousands of attendees and reported the volunteer‑driven effort had raised about $90,000 to date and still needs roughly $35,000 to meet expenses. Fundraising will continue through sponsorships, mailings and outreach. She asked the board to help share accurate information with residents and to coordinate with public safety and DPW on road closures and barriers on the day of the event.
Next steps: Organizers will continue fundraising and logistics planning with police and fire for road closures and barrier placement; Bernaldi said she will provide the board with route maps and event details as they firm up.
