China Select Board adopts 2025–26 General Assistance maximums

The China Select Board on Nov. 3 conducted a public hearing and adopted updated General Assistance maximums for the municipal General Assistance Ordinance.
The board opened the hearing and received no public comments. On a motion by Thomas Rumpf, seconded by Blane Casey, the board voted unanimously to repeal and replace appendices A through H of the existing General Assistance Ordinance and adopt the presented appendices. The changes are effective Oct. 1, 2025, through Sept. 30, 2026.
The adopted update replaces the ordinance appendices that set municipal maximums for assistance. The record at the Nov. 3 meeting shows the hearing was held with no public testimony and that the board approved the ordinance changes by a 5-0 vote.
