EB Frank Middle School project ahead of schedule and under budget, district told

Contract lead David (project manager) and other team members said the roof over the main corridor and gym should be complete this week, metal wall panels and classroom glass are scheduled next week, and the binder course for the main drives is installed. They said permanent power is expected in mid‑August, which will allow mechanical systems to be energized and interior finishes to proceed more rapidly.
The team described technical features of the project, including a ground‑source heat pump system served by 187 wells and substantial mechanical/electrical/plumbing rough‑in now visible in classroom wings and the main corridor. They also described use of building information modeling (BIM) and an "open space" augmented reality workflow to overlay virtual models and reduce field rework; the contractor said they resolved roughly 485 of 506 potential clashes before on‑site work began.
Board members viewed internal photos of the gym, mechanical yard and MEP rough‑in and were told the next milestones are glass installation, getting the building "dried in," and achieving permanent power. The contractor said some final access points and the main building entrance remain open to move materials in and that the parking surface lift will be applied at the end of the project sequence.
No action was required of the board; staff thanked the project team and noted scheduled weekly coordination meetings among trades to keep the schedule on track.
