New commissioner and internal affairs staff introduced to CPRC

Commissioner Rosemarie Vasquez Gomez introduced herself to the commission, saying, “My name is Rosemarie Vasquez Gomez. I do need to change my name legally. I am a supervisor with the county of San Diego.” She told commissioners she was open to questions and feedback.
Lieutenant Omar Ramirez, introduced himself as the lieutenant who oversees internal affairs and described his background, saying he spent nearly three years as an internal affairs sergeant and that the office is available to support the commission. Ramirez said he encourages commissioners to ask Matt Cardoza questions for clarification and that the office is open to the community.
Matt Cardoza, the newly assigned internal affairs sergeant, introduced himself and said he looks forward to working with the commission and answering commissioners’ questions as they arise.
The introductions were part of staff comments and personnel onboarding taking place before commissioner reports and the meeting’s adjournment.
