CPRC approves minutes, excuses absence and records leadership vote in 4-1 decision

The clerk reported that Commissioner Rosemarie Vasquez Gomez provided a doctor’s note for the Aug. 15 meeting; a motion to accept that excused absence was moved and seconded during the session.
During nominations for leadership, members nominated Vice Chair Orth for the chair position and then took a vote on the slate. The commission recorded a 4–1 vote in the leadership selection, with Commissioner Rosemarie Vasquez Gomez recorded as voting no.
The meeting recessed for a closed session and later reconvened. The commission announced its next meeting for May 15, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
