West Milwaukee board approves routine finance and licensing measures; holds parking regulation changes for 30 days

The West Milwaukee Village Board met April 21 and unanimously approved a set of routine financial and licensing items while postponing a proposed amendment to parking rules.
Trustee Edgar moved and Trustee Hill seconded approval of the April 7, 2025 meeting minutes. Finance Committee Chair John Ragonese moved approval of commercial vouchers (checks 34384–34425) totaling $288,411.77, a biweekly payroll of $120,917.39, and the December 2024 Treasurer’s Report; all motions passed on unanimous roll-call votes.
Licensing actions included approval of Beverage Operator renewals for five applicants and a new Beverage Operator license for Tyla J. Paull; the board also approved Secondhand Dealer licenses for ecoATM, LLC at kiosks inside Pick ’n Save (2201 Miller Park Way) and at 4140 Greenfield Ave. The board granted a new Class B beer license for Shree Jordan MKW, LLC d/b/a Taco Pros at 2068 Miller Park Way Unit 2 and a Combination Class B beer and Class B liquor license for La Costena Café, LLC d/b/a Sofia’s Kitchen Bar at 4823 W. National Avenue. Chairperson Craig Schaefer moved each licensing item; roll-call votes were unanimous.
The board also approved a Special Events Permit for National Night Out and reappointed Craig Omick to the Plan Commission.
On land use, the board approved a Certified Survey Map to combine parcels #457-1016-002, #457-1013-001 and #457-1012-001 at 2240, 2238 and 2230 S. 38th Street for Tu Casa LLC.
President John Stalewski announced that action on amending parking regulations would be held for 30 days and directed the Police Department and Administration to prepare a plan for business-specific parking passes. No votes were taken on the parking amendments at the meeting.
The meeting concluded with routine announcements and adjournment at 7:54 p.m.
