The Hawarden City Council on Jan. 14 authorized the final disposition of a city-owned lot in the industrial park, a measure staff said will allow a purchaser to do required buildup so the parcel is ready for sale and eventual construction.
City staff described the lot as being in the industrial park area the council has previously discussed; the purchaser will prepare the lot so it is shovel-ready and more attractive to prospective buyers. The council opened a public hearing on the proposed disposal and received no comments before moving to adopt Resolution 2026-04.
Clucky moved the resolution and it was seconded; the measure passed by roll-call vote, 5-0.
What happens next: Staff will carry out the sale process and the purchaser will complete site preparation work per the agreement. The council did not add conditions during the meeting.
