Morton County Commission approves $50,000 for Hebron Brick, hires full‑time inspector and appoints county representative to Mandan planning board

Chairman Nathan Boehm presided over the meeting, at which Commissioners Leingang, Buckley and Morrell and County Auditor Dawn R Rhone were present. Commissioner Zachmeier arrived later in the meeting.
The commission approved a refund of 2019 property taxes totaling $3,007.11 for parcels 490035000 and 49-0036000. The board also approved abatement #6030, #6031, #6032 and abatements #6033 through #6039 in separate motions; each motion passed on unanimous votes recorded as "all voting aye, motion carried."
The board appointed Commissioner Russell Leingang to serve as Morton County’s representative on the City of Mandan Planning & Zoning for the extraterritorial zone. The appointment was made for a three-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2025.
The commission likewise approved hiring a full‑time building inspector/assessor position. The motion to add the position passed unanimously; the record does not specify the start date or salary for the new hire.
County Auditor Dawn R Rhone reported that total county funds expended from Jan. 14 through Jan. 25, 2022, equaled $11,977,463.64, and that a detailed list of checks is available for public inspection at the auditor’s office during regular business hours.
