The Rio Vista City Council voted unanimously to adopt the Community-Based Transportation Plan (CBTP) on Feb. 4, approving Resolution No. 20254 after a presentation from consultants and a period of council questions.
Consultant Brandon Thompson and Ron Grazi described the CBTP as a community-driven plan focused on meeting the needs of transit-dependent residents and improving local public-transportation options. The packet cited about 5,000 annual trips provided to residents through local services; consultants said some data in the report was drawn from previous studies and the plan is intended as a "living document" to be updated over time.
Council members asked for clarifications: one member said language implying an imminent 800-home subdivision (Riverwalk) should be corrected; another asked why ferry services were not mentioned as part of multi-modal considerations. Staff indicated some items were included from older studies and that the plan will be revised for clarity. Commissioners praised the community outreach behind the plan and noted it could help the city pursue future grants.
Mayor Okamura called for corrections to the text where appropriate before posting; the resolution was moved, seconded and adopted by roll call.
