Wayne County honors two long‑serving employees; Cramer updates Natural Heritage work

At their June 25 meeting the Wayne County Commissioners recognized two long‑serving employees and heard a brief update on a local conservation effort.
Human Services Administrator Michelle Valinski and Deputy Human Services Administrator Pam Wilson introduced Integrated Services Specialist David Hartung, honoring his 10‑year tenure. Valinski called Hartung a "Jack‑of‑all‑trades" and said he supervises the food pantry system, coordinates the System of Care and works on the Park Street playground project. Pam Wilson said Hartung is reliable and "does it without hesitation," and Commissioner Brian W. Smith praised his dedication to county residents.
Maintenance Director Skip Martin and Correctional Facility Warden Randy Williams introduced Maintenance II Worker Byron Webb III for his five‑year anniversary. Warden Williams said Webb is on call at all hours and is "probably the most popular person working at the Correctional Facility." Commissioners thanked both employees for their service.
Commissioner Jocelyn Cramer also provided a short update on the Natural Heritage Inventory and a meeting held at the Park Street Complex, thanking the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and local leader Steve Schwartz for their work. Operations Specialist Jenny Mann reminded the public that tickets for the AgroLegacy Farm Tours on June 30 and July 2 remain on sale at AgroLegacy.org.
The meeting then moved to routine votes and adjourned.
