Perquimans County commissioners approve consent agenda, budget amendments and personnel changes

The Perquimans County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the consent agenda at its March 2, 2026 meeting, which included minutes for three prior meetings, multiple tax refunds, personnel actions and a set of budget amendments.
Clerk Rebecca T. Corprew presented the packet; Commissioner James W. Ward moved to approve the consent agenda and Kathryn M. Treiber seconded. The motion passed unanimously with all six present commissioners voting yes. The consent items included vehicle-sale tax refunds and a situs-address correction, and personnel actions such as reclassifications, step increases and several resignations and a termination.
The Board also approved Budget Amendment Nos. 13–19 to amend the FY25/26 budget. Highlights include a $23,000 Emergency Management HMEP grant for training exercises (Amendment 13), $5,600 in ambulance/Race Car Trail receipts to be used by EMS (14), $1,936 in donations to the Center for Active Living (15), $215,157 for a second Great Grant Match (16), smaller capital outlay adjustments including $37,000 to purchase and upfit a sheriff vehicle (18) and $11,500 to reimburse Chowan County for Perquimans’ portion of a Soil & Water truck (19).
