Lake contractor reports algae and reduces Masters Lake noise; Edgewater plantings delayed

Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes gave the Board an update on lake maintenance, reporting that lakes, preserves and dry retention areas are generally in good condition but, given the season, algae growth was noted. He said a palm tree on Lake E7A shoreline was removed as part of maintenance.
Kurth said a cabinet installed around the compressor system at Masters Lake reduced the measured sound level from 64 to 52 decibels; he described 52 dB as acceptable at the midpoint between the compressor and the screen line. Operations Manager Shane Willis cautioned that the issue is not solely decibel levels but the aerator's tone. Staff discussed moving the compressor and the easement; Willis will coordinate with Bill and Alex Kurth and report back at the next meeting.
Chair Schultz summarized Edgewater issues including flooding and proposed littorals on Lake E‑4A; Kurth and staff agreed that no Canna lilies should be planted and that plantings in Lake E4‑A will be delayed until an agreement is reached with the Edgewater Condo Association. Mr. Kurth left the call before the end of the meeting.
