The River Ridge Community Development District board accepted the resignation of James Gilman from Seat 1 (term expires November 2026) at its Aug. 27, 2024 meeting.
Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter. The board discussed appointment procedures for filling the unexpired term, noting this is an appointment rather than an election. Management said it will have Mr. Long and The Meadows’ property owners association manager e-blast residents about the vacancy, candidate qualification requirements and ask interested residents to submit a resume or letter of interest before the next meeting. The district will provide an oath of office, required ethics training information, sample Form 1 and Form 8B and other guidance in the appointment package.
On motion by Supervisor Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Supervisor Robert Twombly, the board accepted Mr. Gilman’s resignation with all in favor.
What’s next: Staff will solicit candidates, include required ethics training and disclosure documents in the appointment packet, and present candidate materials at a future meeting for the board’s appointment decision.
