Sonya LaGrange and Nikki Hynek of the Swisher Economic Alliance presented a proposal to lease the former lumberyard owned by the CRANDIC Railroad as a public parking lot. The proposal described a five-year lease at $200.00 per month. The council moved to accept revisions made by the City Attorney and to forward the revised lease to CRANDIC for review.
The minutes record the presentation and the council’s motion to submit the Attorney-revised lease to CRANDIC; they do not record CRANDIC’s response, specific parking-layout plans, or a timetable for implementation. Further action will depend on CRANDIC’s review and any subsequent negotiated lease terms.
