The Elm Street water main replacement project has been completed and closed out at a final cost of $378,329.36, $19,547.14 below the budgeted amount, Administrator Cory Wann told the Hicksville Village Council on Nov. 17. Wann said the final pay application was processed and that yard restoration work will be scheduled for spring 2026 because it's too late in the year for reliable seeding and landscaping.
"The project was completed $19,547.14 under budget, with a final total cost of $378,329.36," Wann said during the administrator's report. He added the work was funded through the Community Development Block Grant program and that no local tax dollars were used to cover the project.
Council members did not raise additional objections to the project closeout during the meeting. The final payment application and the spring restoration schedule are recorded in the village administrative materials available from the fiscal officer.
The project's budget underrun and the use of CDBG funds mean the village did not draw on local tax revenues for the work. Yard restoration timing was cited as weather-dependent; the village plans curbside and lawn restoration efforts once conditions allow in early 2026.
