Hicksville council moves to executive session on possible land acquisition, returns with no action; routine approvals passed

The Hicksville Village Council on Monday voted to enter executive session at 6:15 p.m. to discuss possible land acquisition. The motion to move into executive session was made by Ron Beverly, seconded by Rob Bailey, and carried by unanimous voice vote. Council returned to regular session at 7:15 p.m. and took no further action on the subject.
Earlier in the meeting, council approved minutes from the Sept. 2 regular meeting (motion by Rob Bailey, seconded by Toni Egly) and approved a list of bills to be paid (motion by Charlie Martin, seconded by Rob Bailey); both actions were recorded as unanimous. The council also scheduled a special meeting for 6 p.m. on Sept. 29 and adjourned the regular meeting at 7:20 p.m.
The meeting opened with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance and included routine departmental reports and announcements, including the mayor’s announcement that Trick-or-Treat will be Oct. 25 from 4 to 6 p.m.
