The Hicksville Village Council on Monday, Sept. 15, heard project updates from Administrator Cory Wann on three local water infrastructure efforts that the village said will affect service and upcoming street work.
Wann told the council that Fenson Construction has completed installation of a new water main on Elm Street, including meter pits and service lines, and that sidewalk repairs and curbing are scheduled to be completed “within the next week or two.” After those repairs are finished, Wann said Ward Construction will begin milling and paving Elm Street.
Wann also said Bryan Excavating is scheduled to replace water meters and water valves in El Grande Estates “on Monday” (as announced at the meeting). He told council that JDY Excavating will begin work on the Defiance Avenue lift-station replacement project on Monday, Sept. 22, and that the lift-station project is expected to take approximately one to two months to complete.
The council did not take votes on the infrastructure items; the updates were reported during the administrator’s report. The schedule given at the meeting leaves Elm Street paving contingent on completion of curb and sidewalk repairs and the lift-station on completing the contractor’s timeline over the coming weeks.
Council members did not provide additional public comment or set dates for project acceptance or inspections during the meeting. Residents seeking more detail were referred to the Fiscal Officer’s office for committee minutes and the village’s posted meeting materials.
