Hicksville council approves minutes and bills, hears project and operations updates, holds executive session

The Hicksville Village Council approved routine items and heard administrative updates at its Oct. 6 meeting.
Motions approved included: approval of the Sept. 29 special meeting minutes (unanimous) and approval of bills to be paid (unanimous). Approval of the Sept. 15 regular meeting minutes passed with Bailey, Beverly and Miller voting yes and Eric Bassett abstaining. Fiscal Officer Cheryl Smith submitted several routine financial reports, including the Current Fund Status and Mayor’s Court report for September.
Administrator Cory Wann reported the Defiance Avenue lift station project has begun; Ward will pave Elm Street this week; Ohio Asphalt will pave a section from Oak to Defiance Avenue; and leaf pick-up will start at the end of the month with notice via Hyper Reach.
At 6:15 p.m. Councilman Ron Beverly moved and Rob Bailey seconded that the council go into executive session to discuss possible property acquisition; the motion carried. The council returned to regular session at 7:00 p.m. with no action reported from the executive session. The meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m. on a motion by Eric Bassett and a second by Rob Bailey.
