The Village of Denton Board of Trustees introduced Ordinance 24-8-1, the Nebraska Basic Code update, and voted to waive the state statutory requirement of three separate readings. Trustee John Juricek moved to introduce the ordinance and Trustee Amanda Fangmeier moved to waive the three-reading requirement; Trustee Doug Rosekrans seconded the waiver and the board carried both motions unanimously.
Trustees also adopted Resolution 24-8-1, the Municipal Annual Certification, following a motion from Trustee Juricek and a second from Trustee Fangmeier. The minutes record the resolution’s adoption without further discussion.
During the meeting the board opened a short public hearing on automatic renewals of Class C liquor licenses at 6:52 p.m. and closed it at 6:53 p.m. The board approved renewals for the Denton Daily Double and the Denton American Legion. The liquor license approvals were unanimous.
The minutes do not specify ordinance text changes beyond the ordinance number, nor do they record a final enacted ordinance text; the board recorded motions to introduce and to waive the reading requirement. Further procedural steps or effective dates were not included in the minutes.
