PSC approves motor‑carrier certificates, show‑cause revocations and phased Pinnacle Wastewater rate increases

Motor‑carrier items: The Legal Division recommended and the commission approved nine noncontroversial motor‑carrier matters on a single vote; those items included grants of common‑carrier certificates, reinstatements where petitioners had provided required liability insurance, and approvals of tariffs and supplements as described in staff recommendations. Two off‑agenda motor‑carrier items (reinstatement for July Enterprises Inc., d/b/a Coastal Express Shuttle; and cancellation for H. Sims Trucking LLC) were presented as noncontroversial and approved.
Show‑cause revocations for delinquent entities: In Docket 33668 the commission adopted staff’s recommendation to issue orders revoking certificates for entities that failed to pay fiscal‑year 2025 inspection and supervision fees and who did not appear at an April 14 show‑cause hearing. Luke Bentley said the revoked entities may achieve reinstatement upon payment of $100 for each month the required fees are delinquent; entities that have since paid were to be dismissed from the proceeding.
Pinnacle Wastewater tariff: The commission approved an agreed set of phased tariff revisions for Pinnacle Wastewater Systems LLC following a hearing in which staff and the Office of the Attorney General participated. Under the agreement, monthly residential sewer rates increase from $49.50 to $54.59 effective June 1, 2026, and to $59.67 effective Jan. 1, 2027.
Administrative items: The commission approved routine administrative matters, including the annual filing system maintenance agreement for the STAR system, authorization to proceed with architectural renderings for dais and office space, and to seek an attorney general opinion regarding the interpretation of Act 2026‑345 (HB 475). Luke Bentley also introduced the Legal Division’s new attorney, Samantha Sizemore.
Votes were recorded on the various motions; staff presented material as recommended and the commission approved the items noted above.
