Lancaster County approves $199,870 transportation study to analyze 148th Street and support East Beltway funding

Lancaster County commissioners on March 3 approved a transportation strategy study contract with Benish not to exceed $199,869.54. Lancaster County Engineer Pam Dingman told the board the contract updates a 2018 strategy and adds a study of the 148th Street corridor to determine how much traffic on that road is local versus regional.
Dingman said information from the 148th Street study will help the county in pursuing funding for the East Beltway and in identifying best-management practices for system preservation, optimization and growth. She said commissioners had budgeted $150,000 for the work and that the county will draw $50,000 from the East Beltway fund to cover the added route study on 148th Street.
The board moved and seconded the contract and approved it by roll call.
