Rothschild approves trail‑grooming agreement, field conversion, dog‑park logo and signage

The Village of Rothschild approved several parks and recreation items intended to support trail maintenance, field rentals and improved wayfinding.
Administrator Ryan VanDeWalle said the Central Wisconsin Off Road Cycling Coalition (CWOCC) will continue grooming trails in the Cedar Creek Recreation Area under a 2026 agreement that the Outdoor Recreation Committee recommended and the board approved unanimously. The board also approved a plan to allow conversion between baseball and softball configurations at Gaska Park to expand rental options, and unanimously approved a dog‑park logo designed by Tourism Marketing Director Dave Brula for marketing use. VanDeWalle and Brula reported they had worked with a Mr. Smith on proposed sign locations to reduce wayfinding confusion at parks and trails; the board approved updated signage and gave staff authority to include a compost element in the design if it fit the sign layout. All votes were 7–0.
