The Village Board voted 7–0 on Oct. 27 to authorize a letter of support from Rothschild for a Mountain Bay Metropolitan Police Department grant application that could match up to $2 million in project costs for construction of a new facility.
Administrator Ryan VanDeWalle said the police oversight board requested municipalities in the department’s service area provide support letters; the Village of Weston approved the same request earlier in the week.
Trustee Jason Jablonski moved and Trustee Sam Stroik seconded the motion to approve the letter; the board carried the motion unanimously. No further financial commitments were requested from Rothschild at this time.
