Village discusses moving Trailwood Lane boundary, possible shared maintenance and water sales to Kronenwetter

Village staff told the board the current municipal boundary lies on the east curb of Trailwood Lane, which requires Rothschild approval for ingress and egress and has hindered development in the adjacent Village of Kronenwetter.
Administrator Ryan VanDeWalle and Public Works Administrator Timothy Vergara said a proposal under discussion would move the boundary to the centerline of Trailwood Lane so maintenance, upgrades and signal work could be shared between the two villages. As part of negotiations, VanDeWalle said talks include Kronenwetter purchasing water from Rothschild, which staff estimated could produce more than $100,000 per year in water sales for Rothschild.
The board took no formal action and asked staff to continue negotiations and provide details, including cost-sharing and maintenance responsibilities, before any transfer or agreement would be considered.
