Rothschild board approves routine items, appointments and multiple motions
Summary

The Village of Rothschild Village Board on Aug. 25 unanimously approved a slate of routine and substantive actions, including approving prior meeting minutes and licenses, appointing a commission member and authorizing developer and lighting agreements.
Village President Dan Helgeson called the meeting to order at 6:31 p.m. During the session the board voted 6–0 on several motions: approving the Aug. 11, 2025 minutes (motioned by Sam Stroik and Bill Schremp); approving applications, permits and licenses as presented (motioned by Paul Kennedy and Sam Stroik); and appointing Al Zieglmeier to the Mountain Bay Metropolitan Police Department Commission (motioned by Bill Schremp and Louella Luedtke).
The board also approved an amendment to Part I administrative legislation (Chapter 1, Article I, Section 1-2) to allow staff to check for outstanding municipal citation balances before issuing certain non-immediate permits and licenses (motion Schremp/Stroik), accepted a developer’s agreement for 4 Season's Golf of Wausau addressing needed water and sanitary sewer easements (motion Kennedy/Schremp), authorized sharing an informational update letter on the Rothschild/Schofield Aquatic Center with the public (motion Kennedy/Ehster), and directed Public Works Administrator Timothy Vergara to pursue WPS lighting Option #2 (with Option #3 as an alternative) and work with the Village of Weston on separate billings and an MOU (motion Schremp/Ehster).
The board recessed into closed session under Wisconsin Statutes Section 19.85(1)(e) to deliberate property negotiations and reconvened at 8:40 p.m., then authorized the administrator to proceed with actions discussed in closed session (motion Stroik/Schremp). The meeting adjourned at 8:41 p.m.
