Pleasant Hill’s Civic Action Commission agreed on July 1 to staff a table at National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m., an event hosted by the Pleasant Hill Police Department.
Members discussed outreach approaches for the booth, including low-cost children’s activities (coloring pages and crayons) and small giveaways. Commissioners debated whether to provide budgeted snacks or seek donations; staff said donated cookies would avoid reimbursement issues, while the city would supply the commission’s tent, table, tablecloth and two chairs for the event.
Several commissioners volunteered or marked themselves as tentative for staffing the table; staff agreed to send a reminder and the logistics contact. Commissioners asked staff to consider inexpensive printed coloring sheets showing Pleasant Hill landmarks and to confirm availability of markers and crayons from prior events.
No formal budget appropriation was recorded at the meeting; commissioners asked staff to follow up about any incidental costs and to confirm what the city will provide before the event.
