The Pleasant Hill Civic Action Commission voted to remove Jenny Ching from its list of commissioners and add Ted Welch at its July 1 meeting. Commissioner Thor moved the change and Commissioner Garcia seconded; the commission approved the motion by voice vote.
Ted Welch introduced himself to the commission after the vote, saying he has lived in Pleasant Hill for about 15 years and has a long background in publishing and events. "I've lived in Pleasant Hill for 15 years," Welch said, adding he spent decades in the magazine business and hopes to contribute ideas for city events.
The change was reflected in roll call immediately afterward, when Welch and other commissioners answered present. No additional details about the personnel change were discussed at the meeting.
The commission continued with its agenda, moving to event logistics, volunteer sign-ups and community outreach items later in the session.
