Fire department reports 40 calls in June; 23 in Lower Saucon

Assistant Fire Chief Jesse Mancini reported the Lower Saucon fire department responded to 40 calls during June 2026 at the township board meeting on July 1.
Mancini said 24 calls occurred during the day and 16 at night. He provided a breakdown of incident types, including alarms, carbon-monoxide detector responses, building investigations, vehicle incidents and a field fire. He reported 23 of the calls were in Lower Saucon, with the remainder in neighboring municipalities; mutual aid was provided 14 times and received four times. Mancini said there were 305 total fire personnel responses and the average firefighters-per-call figure was 7.62; total in-service time was 32 hours, 59 minutes and 31 seconds.
Board members asked follow-up questions about a siren/timer that had sounded; Mancini said the department would monitor the timer because intermittent failures can cause the siren to sound at night and generate complaints. No resident complaints were recorded in the meeting.
