Board of Health endorses REHA fee schedule update and funds 'Libraries with Heart' blood-pressure monitors

The Marquette County Board of Health met March 3, 2026 and reviewed several public‑health updates including state licensing fee changes and community health outreach plans.
Environmental Health Manager Jessica Jungenberg explained that the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is implementing a two‑step process to raise fees for facility licensing for the first time in about 15 years, and that the county’s REHA fee schedule needs updates to reflect new license types for tourist rooming houses, motels/hotels and recreational education camps. The board approved an updated REHA fee schedule for referral to the county fee schedule.
Public Health Nurse Jenny Stelzner described the 'Libraries with Heart' program, funded by an American Heart Association grant, that places automated blood‑pressure monitors at county libraries and provides take‑home options and informational binders. Melissa Hodges outlined plans for Family Adventure Day, a free family event at Montello High School on April 11 featuring booths, sponsors, free food and activities.
Next steps: the REHA fee schedule will be forwarded to county administration for inclusion in the county fee schedule; staff will roll out the Libraries with Heart monitors at participating libraries and proceed with Family Adventure Day planning.
