Chief Administrator Mike told council that the municipality issued an addendum to the residential sanitation and recycling RFP after a mid‑June pre-proposal meeting with four or five prospective haulers. The addendum clarified contract provisions, updated forms and provided collection data gathered from the current hauler.
Because staff needed to respond to proposers, the RFP deadline was extended to Friday, July 31. Mike said that if proposals arrive by that deadline, administration will prepare a council briefing for the Aug. 5 meeting and, depending on submissions, the council could discuss or consider a contractor award prior to the current contract’s expiration on Sept. 30, 2026.
Mike said staff spoke with the incumbent hauler about potential extensions if necessary, but the expectation is the new contract will take effect when the current one ends. He invited council questions and noted additional updates will come as proposals are received and evaluated.
