Board approves Thomaston Exchange ground signage; logo design remains under discussion

The Downtown Development Authority agreed March 19 to proceed with raised ground lettering for the soon-to-open Thomaston Exchange reading: "Thomaston Exchange Makers, Markets, Community, Est. 2026." The signage proposal was presented by Rick Jacques.
Board members spent substantial time discussing a proposed logo for the Exchange and more broadly for DDA district branding. No final logo was approved; Economic Development Director Taylor Smith asked board members to send him their "threads of Thomaston" to inform a logo that could be used across the DDA district for cohesion and consistency.
The board’s consensus to move forward with the raised-lettering ground sign will allow the Exchange to proceed with physical signage while staff and the board continue to shape the district branding.
