Cerro Gordo County supervisors approve routine claims, hire and set budget hearing

The Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors on May 11 moved through routine business, approving claims and payroll items, adopting a new-hire resolution and scheduling a budget public hearing.

The board unanimously approved the agenda and minutes and then voted to approve the presented claims. A warrant register for a payroll period read in the record was approved; the phrase given in the transcript was “period ending 52 2026,” which was not clarified in the meeting record.

Supervisors adopted Resolution 2026-26 to approve a personnel action form (PAF) for a new intern in the conservation/observation department, effective 5/11/2026. The auditor presented the resolution and the board voted to adopt it.

Other approvals included the renewal of a 12-month retail tobacco/cigarette license for Pine Creek Golf Club, continuation of the county’s contract with Cost Advisory Services Incorporated to manage indirect-fee collections for the DHS office and child support recovery, and the sheriff’s monthly report of fees. The board also set the annual budget-amendment public hearing for May 26 at 10:05 a.m. and voted to move the regularly scheduled Memorial Day meeting from May 25 to May 26 at 10:00 a.m.

Clerk/staff member Michelle confirmed that dock-permit documents for 53 Ash Street and 58 Sycamore were in order and the board approved those permits. The board also approved forwarding manure management reports, which showed a slight increase, to the Department of Natural Resources for review.

All of the above motions were moved and seconded on the record and carried with unanimous affirmative votes recorded as “I.”

The board adjourned after the final motion.
