Cedar County supervisors appoint veteran's commission member, approve fair license and utility permits

At its June 16 meeting the Cedar County Board of Supervisors took a series of routine actions.
The board appointed Bryan Schroeder to the Commission of Veterans Affairs. The appointment was moved by Supervisor Bixler, seconded by Supervisor Kaufmann, and approved with all present voting aye; Supervisors Gaul and Barnhart were absent.
The board approved a new 14-day Class C retail alcohol license with outdoor service for the Cedar County Fair Association, effective June 29, 2026. Supervisor Kaufmann moved the license approval and Supervisor Bixler seconded the motion; the vote was recorded as unanimous among those present.
The board also approved two utility permits for Eastern Iowa REC: one for work on 310th Street and one for work on 320th Street. Each permit carries a $100 fee. Both permits passed, with Supervisor Bixler recorded as abstaining on each; the motions were moved by Supervisor Kaufmann and seconded by Supervisor Bell.
The board approved payroll disbursements and other routine claims and then adjourned at 9:08 a.m. to meet June 23, 2026. Auditor Nicki Welch signed the minutes documenting the meeting actions.
