The Cedar County Board of Supervisors voted June 16 to adopt Resolution 2026-06-1, which sets the state-funded percentages for several property tax credits for assessment year 2025.
Under the resolution, the Iowa Department of Revenue’s estimates will be applied as follows: Homestead and Disabled Veterans Property Tax Credit — 100%; Elderly and Disabled Property Tax Credit — 100%; Mobile/Manufactured/Modular Home Property Tax Credit — 100%; Special Assessment Property Tax Credit — 100%. The board also recorded the prorated factors the state estimated for credits that may be partially funded: Agricultural Land Tax Credit — 20.83255224%; Family Farm Credit — 15.07910352%.
Supervisor Bixler moved to approve the resolution and Supervisor Kaufmann seconded the motion. Chairperson Jon Bell authorized his signature on the document. The motion passed with all supervisors present voting aye; Supervisors Gaul and Barnhart were absent.
The resolution cites Iowa Code Section 25B.7 as the statutory basis for applying the Department of Revenue’s funding estimates and references Iowa Code Section 425A for the prorate factors. The board adopted the measure to implement the Department of Revenue’s funding estimates for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026.
The board did not discuss changes to the percentages at the meeting; the resolution records the Department of Revenue’s estimated funding percentages and applies them for local tax computation and billing for the coming fiscal year.
