Crosby‑Ironton board backs strategic plan framework and a fall‑2027 MTSS goal

Superintendent Mr. Ali presented a provisional 2026–2031 strategic plan and outlined a specific student achievement goal: by fall 2027, Crosby‑Ironton schools will implement a cohesive preschool through grade‑12 multi‑tiered system of supports (MTSS) with consistent tier‑one instruction and effective tier‑two and tier‑three interventions.

"By fall 2027, CI schools will implement a cohesive preschool through grade 12 multi‑tiered system of support ensuring we have consistent tier one ... and effective tier 2 and three interventions for academic and behaviors," Mr. Ali told the board, then walked trustees through a provisional action plan listing objectives, assigned leads, timelines and measures to monitor fidelity and equity.

Mr. Ali said the plan condenses board discussion into four provisional goals: staff culture and inclusion; recruitment and retention; student academic opportunities; and family engagement and communication. He advised that directors and principals will review the objectives and that the board would continue the conversation at the June 15 work session.

The board praised the layout and the measurement steps for tracking progress, noting the district has posted a tutorial and supporting documents on its website and YouTube channel. The item remains provisional; no formal adoption of the entire plan was recorded during the meeting.

Next steps: Staff will collect principal and director feedback and return to the board at the June 15 work session; the action plan will be used to monitor progress through fall 2027.
