The Cedar County Board of Supervisors on June 23 adopted a corrective resolution to include a $10,000 finance stipend in the County Auditor's FY2026-27 compensation, increasing total annual compensation to $93,505.
The corrective action notes the stipend had been approved earlier when the Auditor was assigned Finance Director duties effective July 1, 2026, and that the FY2026-27 budget included the stipend; the April 14, 2026 compensation schedule omitted the stipend in error. The Board moved to correct the elected official compensation schedule so the Auditor's base salary of $83,505 plus the $10,000 stipend equals $93,505 for FY2026-27.
On routine business the Board renewed a 12-month Class C retail alcohol license with outdoor service and living quarters for Buchanan House Winery and renewed a Class E retail alcohol license for TJ's Gas & Grub effective Aug. 1, 2026. The Board also approved a resolution abating taxes on a list of mobile homes and buildings; the abatement total listed in the minutes is $7,828.00 (named properties and years are recorded in the meeting record).
The Board approved the Secondary Roads union contract and a supplemental employee handbook for Secondary Roads; it also approved a utility permit for Liberty Communications for Rochester Bridge and waived the $100 permit fee. Supervisor Kaufmann left the meeting at 9:21 a.m.; the Board adjourned at 9:45 a.m. to its next regular session on June 30, 2026.
All license renewals, agreements and abatement actions were recorded as approved by motions with Ayes: All and Gaul noted as absent where recorded.
