The Greenburgh Planning Board on July 1 authorized staff to draft and circulate a Planning Board letter supporting the town’s application for New York State Parks Environmental Protection funds to develop infrastructure on a 14.2‑acre parcel slated to be annexed into East Roanbrook Park.
Commissioner Garrett Duquesne summarized the project and the funding case, saying last year's application sought $675,000 for infrastructure improvements and that congressional and state pledges will strengthen the application: “Congressman Latimer has pledged $250,000 as has Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart‑Cousins,” Duquesne said. He asked the Planning Board to reissue a letter of support while staff prepares a current application package.
Chairperson Pine recused himself from the vote because he is a New York State employee; the board moved to authorize drafting the letter, collecting individual signatures for the final packet, and submitting the board’s endorsement with the town’s application.
What happens next: staff will assemble the draft letter for review, collect member signatures and include the Planning Board endorsement in the application packet that will be submitted to the state.
