Consultant presents Port Clinton Recreation Amenities Plan; council moves resolution to second reading

A consultant presented the Port Clinton Recreation Amenities Plan at the Oct. 22, 2024, City Council meeting, and councilmembers agreed to consider a resolution endorsing the plan at a later date.
Jeremy Hinte of Ohm Advisors delivered the presentation and provided a handout and a video link of the session. Mr. Below advised Council that Resolution 24-10 would ask the body to consider adopting and endorsing the plan as a guide for park improvements throughout the city.
Council did not take action on the resolution during the meeting. Council President Lisa Sarty said the item was under first reading and noted it "can go all three readings" and would not be assigned to committee. The resolution was moved to second reading on Nov. 12, 2024, at the regularly scheduled Council meeting.
The plan is intended to serve as a guide for park improvements across Port Clinton; councilmembers praised the presentation and expressed appreciation for the consultant's work. The presentation was recorded and a handout was provided to Council. No formal votes or funding decisions related to the plan were recorded at the Oct. 22 meeting.
The council will resume formal consideration of Resolution 24-10 at the Nov. 12 meeting; until then the plan remains an advisory framework rather than an adopted policy.
