HOOSAC VALLEY REGIONAL — During the Sept. 8 maintenance subcommittee walkthrough of the middle and high school, members recorded ongoing repairs to the auditorium and building interiors and noted equipment purchases to support grounds maintenance.
The minutes say the auditorium roof and ceiling repairs were performed over the summer and that the district is currently soliciting bids for a more lasting repair. Carpeting has been replaced and drywall repairs completed. For the middle school, the district is "waiting on architect for drawing on wall reinforcements" for the basketball hoops; parts for the install are on hand and the goal is to have work finished by the start of the basketball season.
Maintenance actions over the summer included replacing a large number of ceiling tiles and repainting most of the building. The district purchased mowers and shifted grounds work in-house, and also leased a new paint-robotic machine that the minutes say has significantly reduced man hours in preparing athletic fields.
The minutes do not record a vote or deadline to complete the auditorium roof project or the hoop reinforcements; they record current procurement steps (bidding and architect drawings) and a target to finish reinforcement work before the season.
