Superintendent Dr. Shannon told the committee that Senator Patrick O’Connor successfully secured a one‑time $70,000 earmark for the district in the state budget. The superintendent said that earmark will be deployed after the district finalizes hires for FY27 and that initial priority will be reinstating department‑head stipends.
The committee also voted to accept two gifts: a $3,960 Cohasset Foundation grant to expand a teacher AI tool pilot and $12,175 from the Cohasset PSO toward ongoing library refurbishment. Administrators highlighted that library investments have materially increased book checkouts in recent years.
