City Attorney Audrey Haydon-Blackmon presented the HRB recommendations, noting the board recommended approval of the partial demolition with conditions. Councilwoman Betty Hart moved to accept the HRB recommendation with the conditions set forth by the HRB; Councilman Bill Sheckles seconded. Councilman Joe Buckman recused himself at 6:17 PM; the motion carried 5-0.
The condition specified by the HRB requires the applicant to submit new construction documents and obtain proper Planning and Zoning permits within 120 days before demolition may proceed. The council-recorded action therefore permits the limited demolition only after submission and permit review are completed.
What happens next: the applicant must satisfy the 120-day requirement and secure required permits; if documentation is not submitted or permits are not obtained within that window, demolition cannot proceed under this approval.
