The board next approved commercial vouchers covering checks 349912 through 350024 totaling $25,222.09 on a motion by Trustee Greenfield, seconded by Trustee Schuettke. The board also approved biweekly payroll dated Oct. 31, 2025, for $133,262.79 (motion by Greenfield; second by Schuettke). Each recorded vote listed the six trustees present as voting yes; Ragonese was excused from voting.
Under committee reports, Chairperson Trustee Hill said the personnel committee received a police union salary proposal and scheduled a meeting for Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 4:00 p.m. to begin negotiations. Police Chief Shaundra Randolph told the board the proposed contract would be for two years and described the department’s current practice on report writing: officers use speech‑to‑text for basic updates but the department does not employ advanced body‑camera transcription for major reports because of cost constraints; major reports are prepared manually by listening to recordings.
President Stalewski said he toured Notre Dame School’s recent renovations. Administrator Kim Egan reported no WMCDA meeting last month and said Palermo’s planned ribbon‑cutting was canceled due to an incident and will be rescheduled.
On public safety, Stalewski raised recent dog‑biting incidents. Chief Randolph said one incident involved an off‑leash dog attacking another dog; the animal completed its quarantine period, the owner was issued a citation, and the case is scheduled for Nov. 18 in circuit court when a judge will determine whether the dog is legally “vicious.”
Administrator Egan briefed the board on several public‑works and community items: the MMSD free tree program has a Nov. 12 signup deadline for pickup on Nov. 15; sidewalk and Burnham Street projects are underway with traffic controls on Miller Parkway; Block Grant lighting work is nearly complete pending inspections; the Complete Communities grant is moving into a phase that will consider safety options for the Miller Parkway and Lincoln intersection; and the contract with Green Solution for tree planting has been signed with planting expected in spring. Egan also said the Joint Review Board will meet Nov. 12 at noon to review ERTID 1 and that a donation box from the Southwest Suburban Health Department will be placed in the village lobby for a food drive.
The board reviewed upcoming calendar items, including a Plan Commission meeting on Nov. 11 at 6:00 p.m., the next Village Board meeting on Nov. 17 at 7:00 p.m. and a WMCDA meeting on Nov. 24 at 6:00 p.m. Trustee Edgar moved to adjourn at 7:28 p.m., Trustee Schaefer seconded, and a voice vote carried.
