Bricker said he attended a McKinley Township meeting to address an outstanding $4,000 payment for first responder/EMS coverage owed to Pellston. He also said the department plans to purchase a 16-by-40-foot shed from Woodland Structures to use as a weight room/fitness area; the total project cost is about $35,000, including electrical and permits, and firefighters have raised funds toward the purchase.
Council approved a contribution of $9,510 toward the shed and fitness-area project on a motion by Jane Ann Rose, seconded by Jackie Pierce; recorded vote was Yay 4, Nay 0. Bricker characterized the purchase as a department-funded initiative supplemented by council support.
The council did not take any new action on the McKinley Township billing at the May 11 meeting beyond Bricker’s report that he would keep the council informed.
