Perkiomen Township adopts 2025 budgets, holds millage steady as Fire Company plans $750,000 truck

Perkiomen Township supervisors approved the township’s 2025 budgets and tax levy at their Dec. 3 meeting, with officials saying the packages require no increase in millage.
Township Manager Cecile M. Daniel presented the proposed 2025 Operating (General Fund) budget of $3,911,414 with estimated revenues of $3,797,710 and a Capital Fund budget of $390,410. Daniel said the totals for the General Fund and Capital Fund would be $4,301,824 and that total revenues and expenditures across all funds for 2025 would be $6,856,305. “There is NO tax increase being proposed for the General Fund for 2025,” Daniel told the Board.
The Board approved Resolution No. 2024‑19 setting the 2025 tax levy at 0.35 mils for general purposes and 0.6 mils for fire tax purposes, and approved Resolution No. 2024‑20 formally adopting the General/Capital, Fire Tax and Liquid Fuels budgets. Both motions passed on 4‑0 votes.
Daniel said the township will draw an estimated $504,114 from reserves to balance the 2025 budgets. She noted the Capital Budget declined substantially from 2024 — from $1,098,410 to $390,410 — reflecting completion of previously planned projects and a $708,000 reduction in capital spending versus 2024.
The Fire Tax budget was set at $1,672,600; that document shows $750,000 earmarked for the purchase of a new fire truck, with the remaining purchase funds to come from a state loan at 2 percent. Daniel said there is no proposed tax increase for the Fire Tax Fund for 2025.
The Board’s approval preserves the township’s current millage rates while moving several line items and one large vehicle purchase forward for 2025. The supervisors voted unanimously on the resolutions and budget adoption.
