Township approves demolition and construction payments, reviews road program and truck purchase

Road Master Shawn Motsavage reported that Summit Wrecking & Demolition completed demolition of a single‑family dwelling at 182 Trappe Road and recommended approval of the invoice. The Board approved payment of $21,500 (motion Albert Campion, second Adam Doyle; vote 4‑0).
Mr. Motsavage also updated the Board on the new Peterbilt dump truck purchase; the cab and chassis are scheduled to be built in Texas and the vendor indicated it is optimistic there will be no additional fees, though Mr. Motsavage estimated a potential $3,000 in extra fees if they arise.
SSM representative Jeffrey Thoms presented the Final Certificate of Substantial Completion for the salt shed addition and recommended approval of Application for Payment No. 3 (final). The Board approved the final payment of $37,170.10 to A.K. Petersheim Builders; the minutes record the project cost as $371,707.00 and note applicable warranties.
Township Engineer Nicholas Szeredai presented a Long‑Term Road Maintenance Program that lists proposed road work over the next 24 years. Manager Cecile Daniel noted that the schedule frequently changes after year three depending on weather and conditions; the Board set a road inspection for the morning of May 10, 2025 to review roads slated for 2026 and accepted the overall plan.
