Premier Lakes reports algae and quieter compressor; board delays Lake E4‑A plantings pending Edgewater agreement

Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes reported to the River Ridge board that, aside from seasonal algae growth, the lakes and dry retention areas are in good condition. Kurth said a cabinet installed around the compressor at the Masters lake reduced the measured sound level from 64 to 52 decibels. Operations Manager Shane Willis noted the measured decibel reduction but said the tone of the aerator remains a concern and suggested relocating the compressor may still be required; Willis and staff will coordinate with Bill and Alex Kurth and report back at the next meeting.
Kurth also said a palm tree was removed from the shoreline of Lake E7A and that plantings scheduled for Lake E4‑A will be delayed until an agreement is reached with the Edgewater Association; the board reached a consensus to hold planting plans for Lake E4‑A and to resubmit the proposal after discussions with the association.
Separately, Mr. Adams presented MRI Construction Estimate #C060‑24 for a Pinehurst Type 9 inlet top in the amount of $10,692.88 to keep debris from blocking the structure; Mr. Krebs is obtaining an additional proposal and the item will remain on the agenda.
Shane Willis presented the Annual Quality Assurance audit of lake maintenance and dry retention areas, reporting higher water levels this year but noting no compliance issues and an overall improvement in lake conditions since Premier Lakes began maintenance. The audit will be scheduled earlier next year to better reflect seasonal conditions.
